Ancient Peaks Sauvignon Blanc 2010 - Paso Robles

The color is extremely light, almost clear with a hint of both yellow
and green. The nose is fresh and clean, tropical fruit and lime. This
Sauvignon Blanc has a very viscous almost slippery mouthfeel and tastes
of apricot, peach and grapefruit. This not a light and breezy Sauvignon
Blanc, there is some weight behind it, the apricot tastes of dried
apricots not fresh and the grapefruit has a slightly honeyed taste to
it. There is a good amount of well balanced acidity and the finish is
crisp and lengthy.
Sauvignon Blanc in this price range tends to be fruity and crisp,
sunshine in a bottle and the Ancient Peaks has that, but it also has
body and depth. This Sauvignon Blanc isn’t just the perfect wine for a
warm summers evening, but is also the wine you would want to pair with
that special new recipe you found.
